    Tuning Software......

I was wondering, since I have an EPROM burner if there is some sort of freeware for tuning the 2.8 TBI engines? I know there is CATS tuner ($), but I would like to see if there are other options out there.

Check out www.gmpcm.com . I think you may find what you need there.

You have OBD-2 and a non-removable FLASH EEPROM, so you are screwed when it comes to tuning. There isn't anything (reasonably priced that is....) that will allow you to reprogram your PCM.

Winbin is free (sorry, no link) and TunerPro (http://gmecmedit.markmansur.com/) can be used free as well. Both programs are nice and quite useable, though I like TunerPro more.

I'm not sure if there are any definitions for your vehicle, maybe on the diy-efi FTP site. I'll look later tonight.
