    throttle body spacer

will a throttle body spacer advertised for a 86-90 2.8L s-10 work on my 89 2.8L MPFI firebird?

no it wont. the trucks are all throttle body injected. furthermore, throttle body spacers for mpfi engined do absolutly nothing for performance. the idea of a tb/carb spacer on a tbi or carbed engine is to increase plenum volume to give the air/fuel better mixing and isolate the tb/carb from heat. in an mpfi engine, the fuel is injected dirrectly into the runners, so were the throttle body is has little effect on air/fuel mixing

      TB spacers on MPFI

Actually you do not want to move the TB farther away from the heads as that will dampen the response. You, ideally, want the TB as close to the ports as possible.
