3.4 + BMW 325?

i've got an opportunity to get a 85 BMW 325e w/ a good body and bad motor for ~$200

anyone seen one with a camaro 3.4 and 700r4 or t5 trans? i have a 700r but the car has a 5 speed in it w/ hydro clutch so i guess a t5 would be simple.

i need another project like i need a hole in the head but the car is mine if i want it, and it can stay where it sits as long as i need it to, so if the info is out there or its been done before i might snag it.

I've heard of a SBC being crammed into such an E30. I say go fer it.

Any shorter engine would be a dream come true for that engine bay, the inline 6 makes it a bear to work on (just recently did a timing belt, cam/crank seals and a water pump on my brother's 325i).. although, with a 3.4, you'll have to get a new emblem that's 334 =)
