Just but some force into the 60*, it will be easier and cheaper with about the same gains.

Ok, would it be better to swap in a 3500 and then start the mods? My 3400 has a bad case of piston slap and I've heard that the 3500 is a must stronger engine to start with.

I'm looking for any ideas or suggestions.

The biggest thing I'm looking for is a smoke my buddy's 03 Tiburon. Those stupid thing is faster then I thought. Just tired of the ricers saying Americain cars suck. I want to make them eat there words.

Honestly, I think an l67 swap would be the best idea. Stock GTPs run about a 14.7 and the gand am (a lighter car) with the 3400 in it runs about a 15.7 stock. However this isnt the site to be talking about the l67.

L67's run rougher, at a lower RPM, and willl likely have less hp than a 60* with the same displcement while N/A. 3800's have only reached 200hp with the motor, and 3500's have come off the line at 220+.

Also the only thing that would be used in the origional car is the tranny. Motor mounts, engine, ECM etc would have to be swapped for optimal performance. With the time and money, as well as time searching for parts. The 60* is the best bang (and gain) for the buck.

Not to mention its such an easier swap as well. There is power to be made with the 60* you just have to know how to do it, and how to tune for it.

Actually, if you would want to swap to the 4t65-e-HD tranny too if going L67...

A 3500 with turbo would be quite a sight. But the tranny might hurt there too LOL. If it does then swap to 65HD would probably work ok with the ECM and some tuning, or maybe not even that. I think the base monte had 65's anyways with the 3400 right? I doubt they got the 45's.

Montes have the 4T65E. Would just need to upgrade the diff to HD for ~$500 in parts + labor. Looking at major $$$$ to swap in the SC3800 in place of the 3400 (think on the order of 6 to 8K).

You can fabricate your own turbo kit for far less.

If you can fab a turbo kit yourself, you can do the engine swap yourself. You might need to buy a few tools, but it definitely won't cost $6,000 to do it yourself.

What would be the biggest problem with swapping the 3500 in a 3400 with a 4T65E?.......would the harness need to be modified a lot?...........my 2002 Monte 3400 has the 65e and I could put the RSM Kit on the 3500 using the same brakets.........hmmmmmmm.............could this be a doable swap for much less than building up muy 3400 for boost?.....gimme some feedback guys.....I have PMd Sappy as well
