GM 3.4 to Ford Duratec 2.5 SVT

I have a 1994 Lumina Z34 with a blown engine. I am not sure currently if I can rebuild the engine at this point. Everything else with the car is in really good condition.

Am I able to switch out the stock engine and transmission and replace it with a Duratec 2.5 SVT and it's transmission? I know very little of an engine transplant and am wondering if I can do this before going out and buying parts. Would it just be expensive and time consuming by doing this?

What other engines can I swap in too, just to keep my options open if something easier exists?

The Durajunk engine is just as much of a pain in the ass to deal with as the 3.4 is.

Do it right and put the 3.4 TDC back in it.

    14.60 @ 96.33 for now...

Ha ha. Yeah, after thinking about it today I agree with you. Might as well try to rebuild or find a new 3.4. Thanks for the reply kflo!

This swap would be just as, if even more so of a pain in the ass than putting a ford in a Chevy in any other car.

Even people with contour SVT's put in the Taurus 3.0L Duratec. in a SVTC.

Go 3.4L. Built. Then add a turbo. Would equal the same cost in dollars probably.
