Hello everyone, had a question about putting a 2.8 L into a 94 Grand Prix with a 3.1L. The block is cracked on the 3.1L but I have a good 2.8L. My question is about the crank sensor. Can the crank pulley from the 3.1L be used on the 2.8L. Thanks

Depending on where you live, it is actually against the law to install an older engine in a newer vehicle. And being a 94, you run into ALOT more issues with the computer than just the crank sensor. Best to just find a 3100 or even better, 3400, to swap in.-Brad-

Agreed. If the Grand am Used a 3100 than its it WAY easier to swap in a replacement or even a 3400 which will give you a boost in power too.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

Except for the 94 Cavalier and 94 Lumina, all 94 models got the 3100.-Brad-
