my buddy has a 2004 cavalier with the ecotec 4 cylinder & a 5 speed trans & he wants to swap in a 3.4 dohc, 3500, or a 3.9 vvt in but keep the 5 speed-will any of these engines bolt up to his trans or will he need a dif one-also how hard the motor/trans mounts be to fab up or are there any he could get that would bolt right up?

I would just build up the ecotech motor, and call it a day. You can order everything you need to make that engine into a 1200hp beast if you so desired. What are his reasons for wanting to go v6?
