    2.8L Oil pan

Getting ready to install the 2.8L motor in my dune buggy. Was wondering if anyone had shortened up the oil pan so it doesn't hang down so far. Its not totally unreasonable, but would like to make it a bit shorter if possible. Also, its out of an 86 S10 blazer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you shorten it up make sure you add the removed volume somewhere else. it only holds 4.5 qts as it is, not a good idea to go any less.

Thanks, I didnt know how much it held. Will definately do some calculating to make sure I dont loose any of the volume when I loose some height.

Was the Blazer 4X4? The Camaro pans and 2WD S-10 pans are a lot shorter. If you can use that pan then it is easy to get the correct pickup for the pump too.

Yes, the blazer was indeed a 4x4. The extra depth of the back of the pan made it a real pain in the ass to pull the motor. Thursday, I'll be heading to the 'yard to find a 2wd oil pan and pickup tube/screen. Thanks for the info.
