SBC motor mounts

Has anyone had any success adapting sbc motor mounts to iron head blocks?

I'm planning on building a small T-Bucket with my 2.8/700-R4, and would like to use one of the universal sbc tubular motor mount crossmembers. I've seen the LS to sbc motor mount adapters that are nothing more than 3/8" plates drilled for the LS block pattern and the sbc mount pattern. This got me thinking that maybe I could make something similar.

Aren't LS engines 90 degree engines? That would mean it would take more than a plate to adapt. Look at superdaves Camaro thread in the members rides section. I'm thinking the k member he used was meant for a SBC but he's running a 3500 in it and had to build some adapters.

Yep, my K member is designed for SBC/BBC swaps. Just some plates cut to the SBC mount pattern, some 2" square steel tubing (1/8" wall) and plates bolted to the engine plus a couple gussets.

Here is a pic of one of the LS adapter plates, with the SBC mount attached. what I was considering is the same type of arrangement, with the plate drilled drilled for the 60v6 pattern.
