What years work? use same year 3.4 from impala?

stick with an 2003 01 Malibu 3100 for easiest swap.

if I have to put a engine in, I want a 3.4. I don't care about manifolds. I just don't want to rewire cam sensors etc...

Swapping uim tb exhaust manis alt bracket and engine mounting brackets are typically the parts needed for the change from a 00+ 3100 to a 3400 & vice versa.

What is UIM? Also since the car is a 03 i was going to use a local engine from a reputable salvage yard that has a 03 impala 3.4 But they tell me 03 is a one year only interchange. Would anyone know the difference between it and other years?
