ques about topend swap

i used the search but could truely find what i was looking for.
ok i want to do the 3400 topend swap on my 3100 but i cant find anything that specifically says what ill need to complete. i know i need the LIM\UIM\and tb but do i need heads and all those goodies. anybody that can put me together a list with what i need would be a great help thanks.

Yes you need to change heads.

You don't necessary have to change the heads when going from a 3100 to 3400. I never did. The ports don't line up 100%, but neither did the original ports.

Ahhh sorry I was thing 3.1L to 3X00.

Well you dont HAVE to but I would. Look around and if you can find an engine core (because the cranks go bad on alot of motors cuz leaking coolant was a big problem) then you can geat heads real cheep.

sweet exactly what i was looking for thanks guys, i was just going to replace the lower intake manifold with the same one but if i can get something that will give me little more power for the same cost why not do that.
