have a 1995 grand am gt coupe with a 3100 auto 4 spd.

Last week blew engine in it,now i have been reading here n there that it may be possible to swap it with a 3400.?

My Q: is what years of 3400,which type of vehicles is it available in,and of course any other helpfull details would be greatly appreciated,

I would prefer to leave present tranny cuz was rebuilt not long ago

Would also prefer to leave present axles as they are.

You can use just about any 3400 from 1996-2004. Eventhough the 05-06 Pontiac Torrents used the 3400, the upper intake manifold is too tall to fit under your hood. Just about every GM vehicle with a v6 after 99 used the 3400 (grand ams, luminas, monte carlos, most minivans, probably more). The engine will bolt right up to your tranny.

the axiom is either a 3.2L or 3.5L and rear drive. its the same motor from a rodeo. the saturn suv is called a VUE

yeah, i always forget the name... didn't know about the axiom but i saw one the other day and im like "damn... thats like the vue on steriods" haha
