how to shim a 4t60(e) accumulator

how did you do thisi plan to doit but i have no idea what i have to do and what to change the springs to or what type of shims to use plese give me a breaf walk through

do i want to put the shims at the tpo by the piston or at the bottum and would it be better to use softer or harder springs

You use the same springs, thats the whole idea of the shims. The shims are 2" OD washers, I would start with 2-3 in each accumulator then go from there. When you take the accumulator apart, they go down inside the hole.

I used, and recommend a .5" stack of washers in each cylinder. I would actually add one more washer to the 1-2 also. And yes, put the washers on the BOTTOM of the assembly (not where the cap goes on).

No. There isn't a "piston" per-say. From the bottom up, there will be: washers, springs, center pin/rod, and cover. I believe there are pictures of this on Brian's website. www.brian89gp.com

so that takes care of the 1-2 shift and the 3-4 shift what about the 2-3

1-2 and 2-3 are together, they are in the same housing. 3-4 you have to take the tranny halfway apart to get to.
