No, actually I've been wondering about the newer Cadillac (and now Camaro) V-6's, can they bolt up an old Camaro bell-housing for a T-5, or are we stuck with the Getrag 260 5-speed or Aisan AY6 on these newer versions of the 60* block?

you're talking about the high feature v6...
i don't know off-hand if the bellhousing pattern is the same or similar, and i don't know how they will mount to the frame either?

Exactly right, you are. The published bolt patterns I have seen are the same for all 60* V6 including the Caddies, but if folks here don't know, that makes me, um, less than fully confident in those drawings. Does anyone have a backside photo like above of a high-feature V-6?

Right now, I'm putting a Camaro 3.4 V6 into an MGB-GT, but my wife has a CTS and that motor would be sweet(er) I'm thinking.

i've never actually seen a high feature v6 in person before.......

now that i think about it...
i'm thinking the bellhousing pattern is the same, at least for the FWD versions.

heres my reasoning: the G6 has a HFV6 in some trims, and i believe it can have a 4t45e hooked up to it, which hooks up to a 3100/3400 in grand ams....... i'm sure some one that actually has one will see this thread and chime in...

Since you already have the automatic bolting in the 700R4 is a no brainer. Grab one from another Camaro or S-10 and thats about it. If your car has a Torque Arm then you need a Camaro case since it has the mounts for it. If you have a free V8 trans then yes you can use the guts from it to beef up your transmission. I would skip the adapter plates and the idea of using a V8 case. I do not know if you will need a cross member or new drive shaft. But if you get a Camaro donor you can easily find that out.

If your going to go over to a manual trans you need a lot of parts. It is best to have a donor car on you or one in a junk yard you can pluck all the parts from.
