on the front side of my tranny there is a black like cup. i know its suposed to be there but wats in it and can it be removed?

It just houses the bottom of one of the shift shafts.
You can remove it, mine rusted though and it leaked oil. Its just a press fit. I replaced it with another used one.95 Beretta- Lg8 Daily Driver
