02 - 03 montana trans differences

hi, new here and trying to get my van running.. have 03 montana... tranny is likely bad.. can get 02 tranny to put in.. was reading that only difference may be the internal mode switch? can i use the 02 tranny in my 03 with just some parts swapping and what might that be? thanks so much in advance

The 4T65E tranny changed in 03 in the FWD cars so pretty sure it also did in the vans, there is internal solenoid differences and differences in how the PCM controls the tranny.
