Ya pretty much. If memory serves the Fiero 4-speed pressure plate is always safe but the 5-speeds are more hit and miss. I could be wrong though it's been awhile since I've checked.
I'm using a stock 4-speed pressure plate and ACT 6-puck disc with an 8 lb aluminum flywheel and it's surprisingly a very streetable combo.'89 Firebird, 3500 Turbo, T56, 9-bolt/4.11

F23 swap into a 2003 malibu with 3100sfi
Yeah pretty much all GM transverse drivetrain clutches use the same spline and even the same pressure plate bolt pattern until you start getting into F35 and F40 stuff.
