Tranny Swap questions

A friend and I are going to do this swap and we have a few questions, these are his cars.

I have a 1990, 3.1 L Corsica that's automatic and I wanna make it standard. The parts I have are off of a standard 1989, 2.8 L Corsica (5spd). Mechanically, the 89 parts should fit on the 90 Corsica, but will the 89, 2.8 L computer handle the 90, 3.1 L engine, and what do i need to do in terms of wiring harneses?

everything should bolt right in.

as for wiring, you will need the engine bay harness and ecm. you may need to change some pin-outs that go into the dash, im not sure on this. the 2.8l ecm will run the 3.1l. you will need to put the 2.8l egr valve on the 3.1l. the 2.8 uses a vacume egr were the 3.1 uses a digital egr.

Will it help if I could find a wiring harness and computer from a scrap yard for a 3.1 L 5spd Beretta or something? As their aren't many 5spd Corsicas there. That way I can keep the egr valve.
