LQ1 has ECCC according to the chart. Stall convertors I have looked at are not compatible, or is there a way around this?

Don't take this to the bank, but I don't think you need the lock-up function. I have run cars with the lock-up solenoid disconected, and it doesn't throw a code, at least not with OBD I.
