    Question about the new....

6 speed auto. Does this have a snow-balls chance for a retrofit into a 3100 Beretta?

    RE: Question about the new....

Yes and no. Yes, it'll bolt up and fit. But, from what I have seen (with the 6spd RWD tranny), all of the controls are now internal, which might make it either a royal pain or fairly painless. Until we get a better look at it, it'll be hard to tell.

It won't be out for almost a year anyway (its first platform is a 07 Saturn), so I wouldn't start getting too excited about it.

i doubt it will bolt right up. if its going into a saturn, it wont have a small gm bolt pattern.

btw: i found from another sorce that this unit is capable of at least 8 forward speeds.

        If it is Saturn...

then I doubt it will bolt up to a 3100 V6 unless GM does a cross-over. Than would be awesome though. You could not put the 3.73's in since it would be way too low geared in first, but I suspect that is why they have designed it that way so they do not have to make a wide range of gearsets. I think they are going backwards. To me engines should be made super-efficient and have tons of low-end torque for less gear.
