    2.8/3.1 external dimensions?

Long time visitor, first time poster here...

I'm in the process of planning a rat rod powered by a 60-degree V6 coupled to a 700R4 transmission. I have not been able to find anything on the web that shows external dimensions of the 2.8/3.1 pushrod engines.

    I'm looking for:

    - overall length from the front of the water pump to the back surface of the block
    - widest point across the valve covers
    - overall length of the 700r4 transmission from an F-body car or S-series truck.

I know that the old GM Performance Book, available in the 1990s, contained this information. If anyone can provide scans from this book, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mike

    2.8/3.1 external dimensions - correction

    Correction to my previous post...

The dimensions were shown in the Chevrolet Power manual published by GM. I have since lost my copy in one of three cross-country moves.

Yes, that's what I was looking for. Now just to get the water pump length and the tranny dimensions, which should be easy enough.

        Thanks
