    Cooling Fan

My cooling fan stopped working. The relay died long ago, so the ground was cut and routed to the dash where a switch was installed for manual control. It died directly after eating quite a lot of power, dimming the dash lights like crazy for a while, then the temp started going up, and sure enough, I get home and the cooling fan's not on. So I'm assuming it was just the motor. After 225k miles, it was prolly living on borrowed time anyway. Soooo...any reason why I should even think it's anything other than a cooling fan motor, before I spend $70 ordering it?

Go to the yard and buy a fan off of any V6 W-body, it will be like 10$.
