    97 Gramd Am GT???

Okay, here's the deal. I was at the junk yard today and found what may be my next ride. It is a 97 Grand Am GT 4dr, auto and power everything for $350. Here's the problem. It is missing both heads and maybe some other stuff. So, about all that I am gettin is the car, tranny, and a 3.1L block. Any suggestions of info on this engine would be helpful. There is a 91? Sunbird with a running 3.1 in it that I could get for about $150 if it would work. Thanks to all.....

The engines are of different generations, the '97 is roller cam, roller fulcrum rockers, head design is a little different, the intake manifolds are way different with the newer being far better, and some other details. Any chance of finding a newer 3.1 (referred to on this site as '3100') in the yards over there?

not without paying about $2500 to $3000 for a used, not rebuilt one. Man, I hate being in Germany. I just got home and now my truck is leaking oil all over the place. I think that the rear main is gone. I am sooo tired of this worn out 2.8L. Thanks for the infor and sorry to vent...
