    Engine Swap

I have a 1999 GMC Safari, It needs a motor.
Savage yards have 2006-2007 low mile motors, out of 1500 Sierras
Everyone tells me I can't use it in a 1999.
No one can tell me why.
I was thinking it's because of the electronics.

Can someone tell me for sure, If I swapped my 1999 intake manifold on the newer motor, if this would work.
I don't won't any problems with check engine lights, ect.

    Thanks

Sorry but the 4.3 V6 isn't a 60 degree engine. You may not get the information you need on this forum.

Full throttle V6 has a section for the 4.3, they should be able to help out a bit more..

    good luck!

I think the crank has a different trigger ring for sensor pick up input/output. Think of it like the 3500 and how we have to use the aftermarket crank trigger setup. Also, the cooling system is changed enough to make it a day project in swapping parts.
