    fiero motor swap question

it's my understanding the FWD and RWD 60* V6's have the starters mounted on the opposite sides, my fiero appears to have the starter mounted on the left side of the block(facing the front of the car) would that make it a FWD or RWD block?

    Thanks-

    Eric

Fiero's have FWD blocks. RWD blocks are usable but you have to drill and tap the block to mount the starter on the other side. Rodney Dickman sells a jig to do this.

I'm thinking about swapping a 3500 from a G6 into my Fiero with a 4 speed manual trans. It's my understanding tha my flywheel isn't balanced correctly for the 3500, if this is so, what flywheel and clutch do I get to make the combination work?

      TIA-

      Eric.

All later model 60v6's (made after the mid 80's) are internally balanced, not externally by the flywheel. A 3500 is internally balanced so you can use any normal clutch and flywheel, it just depends on what transmission you are using as far as the clutch goes.

so would the clutch I ordered for my four speed manual bolt to the neutral flywheel? would the flywheel from a 5 speed TDC car work behind a 3500?

          Thanks-
