91 3.1L Baretta engine into a 96 Baretta???

I have a 96 Baretta with a 3.1L Automatic that need a new engine. I have a 91 Baretta 3.1L auto with just 20,000 miles on it. Can I swap the 91 engine and trans in to the 96??? I would like to take the whole powertrain, harness and controller. I am not sure if it can be done. Any Ideas?? What is the best way to do this?

Yes it could be done.. but it would require quite some work, and you are going ass-backwards. The mount setup is totally different in the 91 vs your 96. Save yourself the headache and buy a 3100/3400/3500 from the junkyard. They can be had for $400-500 with low miles if you look. www.car-part.com www.3400swap.com

buy a 3400 its worth close to nothing around here. and you will have a lot more power will having better fuel economy
