    Headers

Ok,so tell me again, will headers made for 2.8 lt. iron head cars(Camaro ect..) fit 3100 front drive engines?

The flange itself will bolt up if you elongate the holes. However, the ports will not match well and you will loose flow. The sealing surface will also be on the small side. As for the pipe routing you'd have to be more specific about the intended application and your application.

I have taken a 3.1 lt. with 3100 heads and bolted it into a rear wheel drive application. It is in a 1971 Porsche 914.

Sounds like a fun project! I'm guessing you're comfortable massaging those headers to fit a 914 or you wouldn't have stared the project. When I took headers made for a 2.8L and put them on a 3500 I cut the flanges off and welded new flanges on. This gives me a lot more confidence in the seal and better flow too.

You probably already know but make sure you're pistons match the new heads.
