    2.8 V6 Thermostat Gasket

I got a thermostat the other day and it looks like it already has a gasket attached to the stat. Do I need the gasket that I bought seperatly or is the gasket on the stat ok? 1989 GP LE. Thanx

depends there are two gaskets in some cases.

the Rubber O-ring seal on the therm and in some cases a Paper gasket for the housing.
gen2 engines use a paper gasket as well IIRC. but Gen3's only use the rubber oring on the therm.

2.8/3.1 dont use a paper gasket for the housing, just the rubber O-ring
