Block Cast Number History.

Does anyone know where I can find a History on the Block casting Numbers Used on the 60% blocks?
I have a '85 that I put a new motor in and I think that they messed up cause the rear main went out and they said that it was a 2 piece. I want my one piece back.

did you have it rebuilt at a shop ?
most of time they just use a pre done block they have sitting around, and then use yours as a core so chances are you didnt get your original back

Well I know that they didnt use the block that came out of the truck. What I'm saying is that they used the older block with the smaller journals and the 2 piece rear main seal when the block I had was a one piece with the bigger journal.

im not sure it hinkt he casting number is ont he side of the block below the head

post it up here and someone may be able to tell you what year it is or what it came form ?
