    GREEN antifreeze reccomendations

With all the recent discussion around here about antifreeze, I've realized that it's been over three years since I've changed the antifreeze in the ol' '94 Corsica. I've just moved, and no longer work at the John Deere dealership... so free John Deere antifreeze is no longer an option. As the FNG at the local Detroit Diesel distributor here, I doubt I can sneak away with free Powercool antifreeze just yet. I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and actually pay for my own engine oil and antifreeze for a while at least.

So do any of ya'll reccomend a specific brand of GREEN antifreeze? Should I go with high silicate or low silicate? Does it really matter?

    I work at a Case-New Holland-Krone dealership in parts.

Just buy the simple green antifreeze and add water wetter and diesel coolant additive. Molydisilicate it will be blue, and the ford part number (might have changed, we get it from Case now) was FW15.

    RED FTW!!!!! :

i wouldnt personally run water wetter in the winter, sometimes it keeps the coolant too cold and you have driveability probs, esp with obd 1, i would actually go to the universal yellow if i were u, i did and havent had any probs with it and it has the good properties of dexcool without the glue...lol

$10 says they changed the dexcool dye to yellow to get rid of the dexcool stigma....

I've used whatever's on sale... can't go wrong with green....
Okay now, that's enough of that.

but i dont think it has alot of the extra additives make specifically for alum engine parts, plus the yellow is all the newest R/D anyway, but if you must go green get PEAK...Danika Patric=no contest, plus u can win a trip to skip barber school to race with her

Yeah, I bought my car in Florida. Had nothing but water in it and stains from where the water boiled over at operating temp. It has wal-mart green in it now.
