    new LIM gaskit and then this

    Well I just did a LIM gaskit in my grandma's 1995 Buick Skylark with the 3100. Now I got it all put it back together and now it runs like @$$. I have no idea what this could be so I took a vid. of what it sounds like. So what do you guys think this could be?

      You've got a dead misfire. Given that and the excessive valvetrain noise, I think you may have crossed the pushrods for 1 cylinder.

          Sounds just like my Grand Am when I mixed up the push rods, if your lucky you only bent one valve, and broke a push rod. I just went to the local cylinder head place, and they gave me a used valve that lapped in just fine then went to GM for the lifters and push rods. (I did both just to be safe) Still runs great 35K later, I love these engines.

            Wow, sorry for this post, but that sounds like what my 97 Lumina was doing before I replaced my LIM gasket and replaced the lifters. It was hesitating bad too.

            Afterwards, there was just the ticking noise-even with the new lifters-but it drove fine. Now it's quieted down quite a bit. After a few thousand miles later, I guess if I had swapped a push rod I would know it by now.
