    3.8 no tachometer

    2002 park ave 3.8 80k miles

driving on highway and I feel a stumble from the engine. Like it misses for a second. Then everything is fine except that the tach needle is at zero. Car runs and feels fine. The tach comes back after I shut off and restart. No check engine light comes on.

    any ideas.
    thanks

    Wrong forum. 3.8 is a 90-degree engine.

Smart people know better then to mess with 90degree V6's :P

Sounds like a loose or bad ground connection. Check the main ones, there should be one from the battery to the block and one from the block to the chassis somewhere... crank them all down tighter and see if it still happens.
