    Spark Plug Wires?

I need to do a tune up on my car, and I'm wondering what are the best sparkplug wires?

I've got 8mm Tayler Plug Wires now, and they've been working for 60,000+ miles. Are MSD's wires better?

But what are the best ones? Where to get them?

I'm going with AC Delco Platnum plugs.

btw: i did a search but came up with nothin.

I would definately recommend Magnecor wires. Look to spend around $75 for the set, but it is worth it. You can check out their website at www.magnecor.com , and you should be able to get them from www.cyberauto.com

Just looked it up for you on CyberAuto...

You need PN 6532, which will run $69.23 plus S&H.

Taylor, MSD, and Magnacore all all great brands. as long as you dont use those crap Accel wires.. i'd just stick with the taylors or use one of the other two brands listed.

the MSD wires are a cut to lenth set. magnacores are a direct fit if i remember correctly.

im using a set of 8.5mm MSD universal 6cyl wire sets on my car.

Use the MSD 8.5's they work awesome and have very little resistance. To save money buy a bulk roll of wire and ends and make them yourself, it takes less than an hour and it costs me like $65 cdn for a 6 cyl set. Then you have custom wires that actually fit. Plus you can make them equal length for even resistance or as short as possible for as little resistance as possible. I have had them on some vehicles for 4 or 5 years now and they still work great.
Why pay someone to do the work, it costs alot and you don\'t learn s*^t!!!

i recomend the stock style ac delco wires. they are the best quality at a decent price, you wont have problems with the boots pulling off. They dont have the low resistance of "performance wires", but can anyone really claim any real performance gains from different wires? New ac delcos will perform as well as any performance wire.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys! This is excatly the kind of info I've come to expect and Respect from this site.

I'm going to go with Magnacore. They might be a little more epensive, but I'm too lazy to make my own wires.

Got my magnacore wires today. They look impressive, very nice quality.

Hopefully some weekend soon I can put them on along with new plugs.

Did you get cut or precut?
I'm afraid of cut because the crimp just does not seem to REALLY hold.

Who else makes model specific wire sets for the 3100? just curious, because ive only seen magnacore that makes a low resistance model specific wire. for those of you who used the msd wires, did you have to do any cutting? or did the universal fits fit well?

You have to cut. And the hold you get is the exact same as what they do. Plus you get a tool in the kit which works very well.

The Matgnecore ones are pre cut.
