How do I set the timing on my 3.4l?

My 3.4l is converted to a 390 cfm holly carb. I also have a vacuum advanced dizzy that is recurved for my setup.
I've never set the timing on these engines, so can some one help me out here? Thanks..

What damper did you use? Did you put the timing marker from a 2.8 on the timing cover?

IF no to the two above questions, you may want to find TDC and use some wire wrapped around a local bolt sticking out on top of damper with a chalk mark, then timing light to see where you are.

Purchased this as a crate motor. So I don't have the timing sticker. I'm using an aftermarket damper.

Well then, that solves it. Find TDC, mark the damper with a degree wheel and use a piece of wire for a pointer. 9 degrees is a good start for base timing. You can also find a 2.8 motor in a Camaro that will have the timing marks/indicator.
