    90 z24 3.1 oil in intake tube

hey guys i just got a 1990 cavy with a 3.1 5 speed and i took the intake tube off today and i have oil pudling in the intake tube like where the tube comes off the valve cover to the intake, and when i run the car it smells like a lawn mower and chugs bluish white smoke and most of the time when i stomp down on the car it cuts out on like one or 2 cyl. the engine in this car is supost to be a crate engine, but the person i bought it from couldnt prove it to me, so i take it as it has the 146000, but the heads do have yellow writing on them and look really clean so i guess thats probly good, but hopefuly my engine isnt going to heck someone help!!!!

i replaced the pcv valve about a week ago maybe thats just left over oil from the old one, cause it wasnt working at all but since i replaced it my oil psi is up about 20 pounds...

per square inch at warm idle i hope... it should be higher then that at crusing speeds.

        what was it before?

I think he was trying to say it has gone up 20psi from where it originally was...

my oil is about 80 psi. at cold idle, once it warms up its about 15-20, at 2000rpm its about 30 and it goes up stedy all the way to redline (wich i have never touched due to it cutting out when when its at about 65% throttle but it only sounds like 1 cyl. so i was thinking bad injector, plug, wire, or piston ring

Sounds like a JY engine, not crate.

              Blue smoke = oil burning

              White smoke = coolant

blue/white = could be just oil and cat converter burning up, I had a car like that too.

Is there any sort of odor to the exhaust?

it sometimes smells like a lawn mower but since i took the oil out of the intake tube the blueish smoke has gone away for the most part cept when i idle the car, but i can still smell the burning oil some what, and when i washed my car today i had black soot under the bumber, casue i am running a glass pack so its about 5 inches under the rear bumper but it sounds nice but it dose seem to be burning more gas than it should casue im getting about 15-20mpg.
