Small metal line at top of rad?????

Car is '89 GP 2.8 and on the drivers side at the top of the rad there is a small meatl hose that goes down to the bottom of the engine. This hose is the only damp or wet hose and it is also where the drip seems to be coming from. anyways does anyone know what this line is??? Sorry there is no pics, but it looks like a tranny cooling line? Thanx for any ideas.

that would likely be your Transmission Oil cooler lines.

there should be two steel lines that go into that side of the rad. one for feed and one for return.

Yeah that sounds right. After a few inchs there is a clamp and then it looks like it goes to rubber and thats where it is all wet so it's a place to start. Thanx for the help.

Well I was just thinking don't the tranny coolant lines have tranny fluid in them? And if so why do mine appear to be leaking rad fluid? The fluid is pure green and has a coolant smell so it must be coolant. And my tranny fluid is nice and red and has no burnt smell to it. Is there another rad hose by that spot? The upper rad hose was just replaced in june and is not the problem and it is too high to be the lower rad hose ? I wish I had pics but thats the best I can describe it . the car is auto.

it could be that there is a crack in your rad right there and it is dripping coolant onto those lines

Stupid me when I put in the new upper rad hose I didn't have the clamp lined up right so that was an easy fix.
