    Gen 3 manifolds or shorties on gen ll 3.2 turbo

    Im new to this sight but have been around v6z24.com for years, i have and 88 cavalier with a 3.2, comp 260 cam, 5 angle valve job, light port work on everything. I have also built a custom remote mount turbo setup pushing 10 psi.
    I was wondering on something for the exhaust side,
    i was thinking of building a set of over the trans shorties, but would gen lll manifold suite my situation better without less work. I know the gen lll flow better.
    Any input would be great,

    screw the manifolds period. buy some flanges, collectors and some bends and go build some headers!!!!!!

          for your application you realy want to keep the exaust velocity up, so 1 5/8" may be a bit big. 1 1/2" should be plenty.

              My old set went from 1.5" primaries to 2" duals to 2.5" collector. That combo seemed to work out great.

                i have shorty headers, 1 1/2" primary (about 22" long), 2 1/4" collectors, about 6" long, then its into dual 2" exaust through 2 mini cats and to dual flowmasters.

                    thats the best i got. they are from vibrant. they are actualy a 3 way high flow. they work well, i have passed emmisions testing twice now with no egr. (3 way cats are designed to run cleaner on vehicles with no egr)

                      custom manifolds by domination chassis ftw, they're not far away in pittsburgh, call up and ask for Jay and say Cahill sent you. You won't really get a better deal around for the quality they you get.

                            How "remote" is the turbo? If it is a rear-mount, headers may not give you the desired reults. I see a lot of rear-mount F-body guys complaining about longer spool times after swapping from stock manifolds to headers. Keeping heat in the exhaust is key for these setups.

                            Do you have room to run the front bank under the oil pan by using 3500 manifolds?

                              yes it is "rear" mounted, i sits in the factory muffler position of a cavalier.
                              being auto, i have no room under the pan,
                              Maybe i will just do gen lll manifolds then
