    Low dollar 3.1 stroker kit?

Anybody thinking of stroking a 2.8 might want to look into this. There are sites (like northernautoparts.com) that offer a "master rebuild" kit. The kit comes with new pistons. If all the gaskets are the same, why not use a 3.1 kit in a 2.8 and add a 3.1 crank?

The low compression pistons found in the 3.1 v6 are one reason why I would not bother.

Now I am confused. About 21 posts before this one, someone said the 3.1 rwd pistons would work. I posted a question about using a lumina crank in a 2.8, and that was one of the replies.

The camaro or firebird 3.1 uses pistons that yeild higher compression than the fwd pistons found in the aluminum head engines. One piston I would double check is the 3.1 rodeo piston from izuzu. If you can arrive at 9.5:1 or higher then I would definately consider the stroker a good choice for a build up.
