Felpro uses a little nub on the gasket that just lets you rest the pushrod on to hold it in place. The GM gaskets have the loop you see in the pic.

    That pic is a 3500 gasket on a 3400 head .

Here is the 3500 gasket on a 3500 head...

hmm... now I gotta go look at mine... cause the gasket is bigger than the port, but I dont think its that tall though... I could be wrong. And I notice GM/Felpro keeps going back and forth between having the guide plates on the gaskets and not having them there.

3500 LIM gaskets are plastic, the UIM is metal. There is no aftermarket gaskets for the 3500's yet. Sorry for the earlier post. I thought eldiablo was talking about the UIM gasket being metal in the 3500 set, even though it's clearly typed "LIM"

Here's a pic of a 3500 gasket set, I got the same one from GM...

You are correct, I have a set of both the Felpro metal gaskets and 3500 GM stock gaskets here. I was hoping to be able to get the metal UIM gasket by itself to use with the 3400 stuff in the garage,

No, the metal UIM gasket came with the GM top end gasket kit for the 3500. The part number I gave is for big port 3100/3400's.
