Any experiences or stories about ebay conrods?

I want to pick up some H beam smallblock rods, and its driving me nuts that there are generic branded ones that cost $200-$300 less than a set of eagle or scat rods. I did a google search for a couple of the companies that make them, and cant come up with any bad reviews or bad ebay feedback. Personally, I dont see how bad these could be, except maybe the rod bolts. Forged metal is forged metal. An eagle or scat stamp on the side of the rod doesnt mean much to me.

just because it says its forged doesnt mean its strong. scat and some eagle parts are forged but forged with chinese ore. chinese ore isnt as good as north american ore though hence the price... scat had a huge problem a few years back with their cranks that were supposedly "american made". theyre forged overseas but machined in america. personally those h beams are massive, and will take some abuse. u looking for some pistons/rods at all?? ive got my wiesco/eagle h beams f/s..

Thanks for the info. Suppose I should pick up the eagles then. Im not looking for pistons, Ive already got a set of stock compression forged. Id like to go 12:1 though, and will get them made once I pick some rods up.

I just purchased a set of scat forged H beams for $390 shipped. I couldnt find the eagles for less than about $450 shipped.

You can stop bye when I get a little farther along. Its just a pile of parts right now. Yesterday I went up to E&R performance in addison to have them order some pistons for me. Im supposed to get a call back today about pricing, but he said they are around $110 each usually.
