its rebuilt. the paint i believe is designed for electric motors, the guy thats helping me build it thought we should do it so the oil doesnt stick and said a hot tank has a hard time gettin this stuff off.sigpic

That, plus it seals the casting. Old school blocks were sand cast, and if you didn't deburr and paint the block innards you'd either have an oil leak from porosity, or casting sand would find it's way out into the engine.Originally posted by 92cavquest View Post

3500's dont have metal intake gaskets for the lower intake yet... and he has a 3500 top end.
