        I agree. It's looking great. Is that glyptal paint for inside the block or just regular engine enamel?

          its rebuilt. the paint i believe is designed for electric motors, the guy thats helping me build it thought we should do it so the oil doesnt stick and said a hot tank has a hard time gettin this stuff off.

            I saw a show on the DIY network where they were building a kit AC Cobra. They did the same thing on the block saying that it helped the oil not stick, and improved oil drainage.

              If you would like to read a little more on it google "glyptal paint". Seems to be an old hotrodders trick to help with oiling.

                That, plus it seals the casting. Old school blocks were sand cast, and if you didn't deburr and paint the block innards you'd either have an oil leak from porosity, or casting sand would find it's way out into the engine.

                Plus it looks cool as hell.

                      i'm surprised not to see the metal intake gaskets. what did you fill the mounts with?

                          3500's dont have metal intake gaskets for the lower intake yet... and he has a 3500 top end.
