Hey evryone, Just wondering what I should do with this 90' cavalier, it's got a 3.1 auto. I was thinking about the billet throttle body,1.6 ratio rocker arms. Just light stuff nothing too big. any Ideas/

that would be a good start. I would also look into a cam, and exhaust work as well. If you want to get even more involved, then you can also look into doing the hybrid, which is the newer 3100/3400 heads, and intakes on your 3.1 block.

          Got her home

Well, I got the car. The thing is purple. It needs a passenger side front glass and the little plastic wheel is shatered too. Can you change just that wheel?or do I need a whole new regulator? It runs rough I haven't checked any codes yet but will later today. I need to find front struts cause she bounces like a low rider. I was thinking of lowering spring any body got some for sale? I have pics up of it later this weekend.... So you guys can get a good laugh.

When you talk about the little wheel, are you referring to the round knob you hold onto when you open and close the window? If so, I don't know if they sell just the knob, but you can get the entire crank. You need a small hook, but the crank is held on with a clip. If you press the door panel back some, you can get a small hook on it, and pull the clip off. Then the old handle will pull right off. When you put the new one in, it is a lot easier. You can just put the clip onto the new crank, and just put it all in and it will snap into place.

No I know about that, I'm talking about the little white platic wheel that runs in the bottom of the window on the steel track. it's how the regulator is held to the glass. I think i can gently heat it just enough to pop it back on. If I get another one cause mine is smashed to bits. I haven't tried that before but either way I have to fix it. Any tips on finding cheap front struts? thanks for your help by the way.

ahh. I see now. In all honesty, when the manual window messed up in my Cutlass Supreme, I just upgraded it to power windows. I'm sure someone else can chime in. I know what you are talking about now, but I have never tried to fix or replace one.

I have experience in auto for 12 yrs I just know that there is a trick to everything and I like advice from people who know absolutly how shit really works. General knowledge isn't always that good. I think I can and will fix know matter if I repair or replace. So what's up with the cutting two wires to get these cars to pass emission testing? I know I've had to do it to a 3100 but it's different wires for the 94 3.1L. Anyhow I'll check out what I think will improve the performance easiest to hardest and start with that. Air intake, exhaust, 1.6 ratio rockers, then maybe computer tuning. I don't know much about it but I want to utilize what I have first then build it from there.
