    yah the only real feasible roller bearings would be cam.

    but i just brought that up because it is neat. i asked that question about the 4.3 bearings for another reason

    a quick google search notes claims of 2-15 HP.. Most have said that they use them with extreme valve spring pressures, 400+.

    I guess it's just one of those things that is neat but not really needed.. kinda like powdercoating the lifter valley.

    yah, id rather go with a napier ring or something cuz they arent much more $$$ and will help gain HP and sealing ability....without further machining or a custom tool to install them. and that would be on a high perf engine, not just a 7k race rod

    thin but there. How much frictional loss are you placing on the cam vs the piston rings? There isn't that much resistance to the cam turning for bearings alone. 10-20...wow. I was thinking 2.

    the thoughts of this mod have gone back several years to when the domesticcrew guys were all still pumping out '660 hybrids and 3400 swapping everything with wheels. HP thoughts were 10-20 iirc.. Comp makes these bearings for about $75 but claim for race applications only.

    HP gains would all depend on cam profile, open/closed valve spring load etc.. for someone turning 7K+ RPM with 300+lbs open spring pressure they would deffenetly help. The oil film buildup in regular bearings is probably pretty thin at that point.

    This mod may be worth something if the cost to HP improvement ratio wasn't so bad. Don't look for a big HP increase with this mod. In fact I would be surprised if you got more than 5 HP out of it.

    yeah. you also don't need to have forced oiling either. they block the oil holes as they only require splash lubrication. they didn't mention how much it cost. wonder why....

    they bore the block in order to use the torrington bearings in place of the OEM bearings. there was an article that showed the process. nice idea, and they are primarily used for racing. this is the type of bearing i'm referring to: http://www.daltonbearing.com/Torring...r-Bearings.asp they had to remove a lot of material. i don't know if there is enough material to allow to bearing the cam journals in the 660.
