272-2 with 1.6 rockers has .498/.512 from memory, I have one here, but am unsure of which cam I'm going to use yet (also have a custom grind).

I didn't think Crane was still open....

You put 6" rods in the 3.4? And how do you plan on getting 10:1? The 3.4/3500 with 3500 head gaskets (poor .07" quench) is 11.5:1.

Crane is closed, had to check a whole lot of places to find a 272-2. New 3.4/3500 will have 20cc dish pistons with 0 deck height and yeild 10.5:1 cr ,custom forged pistons. Would like to find some 1.65 full roller rockers. Present 3.4 is the same configuration only 8cc dish pistons. I might sell the short block so it will still be a balanced rotating assembly.

Well no H272-2 Crane cams. Have to go to delta and have one custom made. Was thinking 220/232 dur @.050, lift w/1.5 .477/.490, LCA 113. ICL 107. What's your thoughts. Redline around 6200, hp260@crank?, tq280? 3.4/3500, cr10.5 ,headers ,65TB

is this for a turbo application, or N/A? turbo cam: maybe a little less exhaust duration and intake lift ~.520, LSA 114-116. N/A: ~224/228, lift ~ .550/.550, LSA 110. I'd shoot for CR of 11-11.5 with porting and such, you should reach your goals.

This will be a N/A engine with maybe a shoot of nitrous. With 1.6 rocker it would equal .509/.522 lift

if you are going with NOS, then you do want a lot of exhaust duration and lift. NOS burns hot and it wants to get out fast.
