okay, lets say that i wanted to beef up my engine and needed a trans that could handle the power, if i dropped in a reman 4t65-E/or 4t80-E and used the gm performance parts trans computer to control it, would everything work "right out of the box" with maybe only minor probs, or is there more ivolved since the computer is "technically" for a 4L65-E/4L80-E (sorry, THM440t4 in title)

Over at a-body.net a guy by the name of turbokinetic just did this very swap in his Century. His reason was his turbo 3.8 kept eating 125s and a 440. i'm sure you could get it to work, on w-body 98montels has a northstar and 4t80e running in a 95 monte ls. i think he might have used the TCI tranny controller though. but there is a way to get it working. don't forget, the 4t80e has a different bellhousing pattern than the 4t60/65e have...

go with the 65E! there are way more parts in the aftermarket world. that's what i did.
