UIM would be much easier to make from scratch, you'd just need it to interface to the 6 ports, instead of interface to the heads, coolant ports, make up the other half of the valve covers, and valley cover.... I believe the volume and length info is out there... somewhere.. I know it's been mentioned before.

Custom UIM you can extend the runners of the LIM (much like the 3400/3100 intakes do) or just go to huge plenum like the 3500. Brad's UIM was a combination of both IIRC. It looked sort of like the LS1 intake on top of the runners on the LIM. So it would have VERY long runners and a good plenum space inside...........

Yup that's how I remember it... I think you should complete it Brad. No one would be able to figure out what motor it was... But you need a TIG welder for those welds!! Those are some looong runners. Almost double length.

OMG! Thats beautiful work brad! Looks like someone needs a TIG welder! Now that makes for a neat low-pro engine bay, and has full functionality.

Looks like brad is going to have a copycat in the (not so distant) future...
My goal is to finish the engine buildup (the most labor intensive) in 2010.

Now... Since I will be using genIII 3400 heads, which LIM is a good choice for me?

I sincerely appreciate the help (and corrections) you guys are giving me, well seasoned 60v6'ers are the norm here. Keep it up!

GM did the work for you, the 3500 UIM..

the 3400 LIM will have to be used with the 3400 heads.
