Well for starters I have an 03 Malibu and I have spent countless hours this morning researching the 3100 and have learned quite a bit of info. I found out that 00+ 3100's are basically the same as 3400 so there would be no point in doing the top swap right? I also looked into a 3500 top swap, but IIRC the UIM and TB are the only options there, correct me if wrong, either way I lost interest. So besides turboing and supercharging, since I want to keep it n/a , what would be some good ideas? I was thinking for starters the Competition Ported 3100 Manifold Set and the 62mm TB and a CAI?

Headers. You may be able to find some used S&S ones, or just wait until WOT-Tech/60* Inclusive finish their N-body ones. You can also go with tuning with HP Tuners, which will get you a little power (and economy maybe) now, but allow you to get the most out of mods you do later.-Brad-

Headers, 3500 UIM with a 65mm TB and a crank scraper would be fairly easy and you'd notice a difference for sure.
Going further i'd pick up a ported top end from wot-tech and a good cam. It's not cheap but you'll really see some gains out of that.Comment
