thottle body swap

ok, i know this is probably in the search but i tried and all i got was engine swap ideas i need to know if there is any gm engine out there that has a larger tb without any major mods i know there maybe a little grinding to the mntng flange and is there any advantage to going to a 3400 intake? thanks for all your help

Since you have a small port 3100, going to a 3400 top end (which has a 56mm TB vs your 52mm unit, to answer the other part of your question) will help you out a decent amount.

ok so a 3400 tb is 56mm if that is the case i will get one asap as i work at a pull a part yard i am really impressed that a 3100 with 134000 miles pulss like it does very impressed thanx for all your help

I put the throttle body off of a 3400 on my (large port) 3100, added a short ram intake, and a tune from MP Racing. It really made the 3100 come alive, like driving a different car. For the low price of the throttle body, and how easy it is, it is no-brainer mod. Go ahead and delete the coolant hoses to the throttle body while your changing it. It you havent gotten a tune yet, I highly recommend MP Racing. I was very pleased with the results and only a mild tune.
