    3500 sensor question

just above the crank sensor on my 3500, there's a sensor or device of some kind, it's rather large and has 3 larger wires going to it.

    what is it? anyone know?

I think you will find you have one on each side. I think its a knock sensor.

if this is a knock sensor, it's the biggest one I've ever seen...

Is it round with a 15mm bolt going through the middle of it?

Hmmm. My 3500 has a plug in that hole. And my right knock sensor was in the hole just above and to the left of it. It looks like a water temp sender to me. Hopefully somebody can identify it for sure.

Never seen one in an LX9 but wouldn't be surprised if it's a block heater.

Thats exactly what it is. The engine probably came from a van.
