if it was going in a generator or other stationary assembly, I would say it's fine, but in a car, that's a no-go, either your crank will be halfway submerged in oil, or anytime you stop go or turn, you'll suck air.Last edited by ericjon262; 01-11-2013, 09:00 PM."I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. The oil pan will have internal baffeling with trap doors like road race pans, to keep the oil around the pickup, the pan capacity at 2" oil depth is around 7 quarts. I'm also going to run a crank scaper and a windage tray. Barnes oil pumps built a similar type pump for an internal dry sump that was used for many years by sprint car engine builders in the late 70's and early 80's.

I have a basic question. How are you going to check the oil level? Just because I'd like to know, I don't know much about race style pans.95 Beretta 3100 with 3400 intakes and TCE TB

It will have a dipstick, same as any other oil pan. It will have to be custom made to the correct length and marked with proper level when it has 6 quarts of oil in it.
